What Season 3 of Borgen

The third season opens with Birgitte Nyborg out of politics. Disillusioned with the direction of her party, she prepares her comeback and decides to create her own after losing the leadership battle for the moderates to Jacob Kruse. Now she has to build the party from scratch: she looks for members, candidates and money, and the money doesn't always come. The press watches her every move. Katrine Fønsmark of TV1, Kasper Juul, her communications adviser, and Torben Friis, the channel's editor in chief, surround Nyborg at Christiansborg, the Borgen. When the prime minister calls a surprise election, Birgitte must campaign while hiding an illness and undergoing daily radiation treatment.

Two and half years later, Birgitte is traveling the world out of politics when suddenly the changing Moderate Party makes her want to return. The problem is, Krause, whom she sent away to EU, is the leader of the party now, and does not want her back. Sojro however tells Birgitte to oust Krause as a leader. Birgitte hires Kathrine to help her, and they try to get the votes together so Birgitte could once again become the leader of the Moderate Party.
