What Season 1 of Dept. Q

Carl Morck, chief inspector of the Edinburgh police, returns to work four months after being shot in an ambush that left his partner, James Hardy, paralyzed. His colleagues greet him coldly, seeing him as arrogant and unsociable. Meanwhile, the Scottish government wants to improve the police's image by reopening old cases and allocates a considerable budget to a new unit. His boss, Moira Jacobson, diverts almost all of that money to her own department and assigns Morck as the only officer to review a mountain of unsolved case files.
