What Season 1 of Komi Can't Communicate
Komi is a shy student who hardly talks to anyone, but she has one very clear goal: making one hundred friends. At a high school full of unusual characters, Tadano, a classmate, decides to help her with this mission. The season follows the day-to-day effort through everyday situations. Tadano looks for other students who might get closer to Komi, like a very talkative classmate who doesn't want to get involved. Komi makes Himiko nervous by staring at her in silence, while Yadano tries to outdo her at the medical checkup. Najimi, meanwhile, plots pranks and schemes. Through nerves, misunderstandings and small steps, the series focuses on how Komi tries to open up to others.
