What Season 17 of Mayday

Mayday examines plane crashes, near misses, hijackings and attacks that have shaped aviation history. The season opens with Northwest Airlink Flight in Minnesota, whose pilot deliberately descends below the minimum descent altitude, and with a Comair flight in Detroit, where ice builds up on the wings. Each episode mixes reenactments, animation and archival footage with testimony from retired pilots, experts and investigators who explain what failed and how it could have been avoided. Technical failures, crew decisions and air traffic control errors drive the story, while Stephen Bogaert narrates.
