What Season 1 of Schitt's Creek

The Rose family lives in luxury until their business manager cheats them and the government seizes their mansion. Johnny, a magnate who owns a video store chain, and Moira, a former soap opera actress, lose nearly all their money along with their adult children, David and Alexis. Their only remaining property is Schitt's Creek, a remote town in Canada that Johnny bought as a joke, as a birthday gift for David. Forced to settle into two rooms in a rundown motel, their refined manners clash with the locals, especially the flamboyant mayor Roland Schitt, his wife Jocelyn, and Stevie, the motel manager. Each episode tests their ability to adapt to a life that's nothing like the one they knew.
