What Season 1 of Spartacus

A nameless Thracian serves as an auxiliary in the Roman army under Gaius Claudius Glaber, on a campaign against the Getae. When the command abandons that war to face Mithridates, he sees it as a betrayal of his own people. With Sura, his wife, by his side, he expects to return home once the campaign ends. However, the Romans capture him in Thrace and take him to Batiatus's gladiator school. There he must survive combat and rivalries with other fighters. Lanista Batiatus wants to climb the social ladder and doesn't hesitate to use his gladiators to get there. Spartacus clings to the promise of reuniting with his wife as his desire for revenge grows.
