What Season 1 of Under the Dome

Chester's Mill, a small town in Maine, is suddenly cut off from the rest of the world. Dale "Barbie" Barbara, a Iraq War veteran who is visiting, interrupts a secret job on the outskirts of town when an invisible, impenetrable barrier falls just a few yards from him. From there, he watches as planes and cars crash into the Dome and are destroyed. Panic spreads among the residents, and a group of people outside of power, led by Barbie, tries to keep calm. Meanwhile, the only government left in town, headed by Big Jim, struggles to hold on to control. The season focuses on how the residents cope with being trapped and on the search for answers about what the Dome is and how to get out of it.
