Élodie Fontan doesn't remember what it's like to live outside a film set. By the age of five, she was already appearing in ads for brands like Nissan and Disney. It was a childhood spent among cameras and scripts that other kids only saw on TV.

In 1996, she appeared in the series La Croisière Foll’Amour. That was the start of a steady presence in French fiction that would continue through the following decades. But mass recognition took a while to arrive.

In 2010, she joined the cast of Clem to play Alyzée. It was one of the longest-running productions on French television and gave her the chance to learn her craft day by day. Before moving into film, she honed her technique for years in episodic formats.

And the gamble paid off.

In 2014, she played Laure Verneuil in Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?. The film became a sociological phenomenon, selling more than 12 million tickets in France alone. That figure changed her standing in the industry overnight.

The Lacheau Factory and the Big Break

In 2015, her career took a different direction when she joined Philippe Lacheau's team to shoot Babysitting 2. Physical comedy became her main language. There she found a stable working group that the French press nicknamed La Bande à Fifi.

But it wasn't all light comedy. In 2017, she joined the cast of Alibi.com, a film that grossed 24 million euros at the box office. Contracts began to demand more rigorous physical preparation for action scenes.

Broad comedy demands absolute technical precision.

In 2019, she took on the role of Laura in the adaptation of Nicky Larson et le Parfum de Cupidon. The project was a logistical challenge with a budget of 18.5 million euros. She had to shoot high-risk sequences that moved her decisively away from her image as a family-series actress.

In 2021, she worked on Super-héros malgré lui, maintaining her partnership with Lacheau's production circle. The film was shot during the height of health restrictions in France. The crew had to form a COVID bubble to meet the delivery deadlines set by production company StudioCanal.

In 2023, she released Alibi.com 2 and 3 Jours max. The latter production was filmed on location in Abu Dhabi and Mexico. Shooting the desert scenes took place in temperatures that topped 40 degrees during the day.

The film Alibi.com 2 wrapped up its run in French theaters with a total of 4,277,971 viewers.
