Hassie Harrison

Dallas Asphalt and the School of Improv

Hassie Harrison was born in Dallas in 1990 into a family with real weight in Texas's cultural scene. But her personal ambition soon pushed her toward the West Coast to study acting at the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade.

Comedy was her first refuge.

There, she learned that narrative rhythm is just as important as silence. Her debut came in 2014 with a brief appearance on the series Hart of Dixie, and shortly after she took part in the horror anthology Southbound in 2015. That role taught her how independent shoots work, with tight budgets and minimal production schedules.

Before reaching national television, she worked on small projects that barely made an impact outside the festival circuit. But in 2019 her luck changed when she joined the cast of Tacoma FD. On this series, she played Lucy McConky for several seasons and got her name circulating in the casting offices of the major networks.

Taylor Sheridan's Ranch and the Rural Phenomenon

In 2020, she joined the third season of Yellowstone to play Laramie. This role marked a big change in her public visibility, because Taylor Sheridan became the most-watched show on American cable.

And the gamble paid off.

Her character was not the lead, but Harrison managed to give her the physical energy needed to survive in a male-dominated environment. While filming in the Montana landscapes, she met Ryan Bingham (an Oscar-winning actor and musician), and they began a romance that went beyond the screen.

In 2018, she filmed the science fiction movie A-X-L and also took part in the period drama The Iron Orchard. In the latter, she explored the roots of her native Texas through a story about the oil boom in the 30s. It was a tough shoot that demanded greater physical and psychological preparation than her previous television work.

Private Life Under the Industry Spotlight

Media attention grew rapidly when Harrison and Bingham made their relationship public in 2023. But both chose to keep a low profile about the details of their life together until they married in May 2024.

The wedding took place in Dallas and was designed around a Western aesthetic that the trade press analyzed for weeks. This union was not only a social event but also cemented Harrison's image as one of the central figures in Sheridan's creative universe.

Not everything has been a commercial success.

In 2021, she starred in the romantic comedy Back to Lyla, which went almost unnoticed in theaters and ended up on streaming platforms without big viewership numbers. Even so, the actress kept her work pace, and in 2024 she filmed the final scenes of season five of Yellowstone at Paramount's studios in Utah. The production contract for this season set a base pay per episode that places her among the highest-paid supporting actors on cable television.
