Butler then decided to diversify her television appearances to gain some momentum.

The Staying Power of Independent Film

Starting in 2017, her name began appearing in science fiction credits such as Moontrap: Target Earth. She also ventured into suspense dramas such as Doubting Thomas in 2018. In this project, she proved she could carry a story without relying on special effects or fake blood.

In an independent actor's market, steady work is worth more than a fleeting hit. So Butler became a familiar face in domestic thrillers produced for digital platforms and niche cable channels.

In 2020, she starred in Revenge for Daddy and Woman on the Edge. These are low-budget productions that demand strong technical professionalism to meet tight shooting schedules.

In 2024, she appeared in The Man in the Guesthouse under the direction of Dave Thomas. The shooting schedule for this film was completed in fewer than twenty working days.
