At the end of the Yugoslav Wars, a group of aid workers from a fictional NGO works in an armed conflict zone. Mambrú and B are two veterans of humanitarian aid. Alongside them travels Sophie, a recent addition to the team, accompanied by her interpreter, Damir. Benicio del Toro, Tim Robbins and Mélanie Thierry lead the cast of this film directed by Fernando León de Aranoa. The job is to pull from the bottom of a well a corpse that someone has dumped there to contaminate the water and cut off the population's supply. However, the team doesn't have a rope to haul it up, and getting one turns into an odyssey. Along the way they cross paths with fighters, UN peacekeepers and local residents.
