Billy Elliot

In 1984, during a miners' strike in County Durham, clashes between picketers and police become a daily occurrence. Among the most fiery miners are Tony and his father. The latter is determined that Billy, his younger son, take boxing lessons. But although the boy has good footwork, he completely lacks punch. One day, at the gym, Billy watches Mrs. Wilkinson's ballet class, a stern woman who encourages him to join in. From that moment on, Billy devotes himself passionately to dance.
