A new comedy with no manners.

Two grade-school boys get into a fight in a park, and one of them hits the other in the face with a stick. The parents of both decide to meet to handle the matter civilly. Alan and Nancy Cowan, the parents of the attacker, go to the Brooklyn apartment of Michael and Penelope Longstreet, where the other couple is waiting for them. Everyone wants to wrap up the meeting as soon as possible, draft a reasonable agreement and get back to their lives. Seated in a tastefully decorated living room, the four adults assume that a polite conversation will be enough to resolve the situation. However, their differences in temperament begin to surface as soon as they exchange the first words, and the tone of the conversation gradually changes.

Trivia about Carnage

Although it is set in Brooklyn, the film was shot in Paris due to Polanski's status as a fugitive.
The opening and closing scenes, which appear to be shot in Brooklyn Bridge Park, were actually filmed in France in front of a green screen.
The director's son, Elvis Polanski, plays the Cowans' son, although he only appears in long shots during the opening and closing scenes.
The apartment where nearly the entire film takes place was built inside a sound studio on the outskirts of Paris.
