Vietnam, 1965. Adrian Cronauer, a disc jockey from the U.S. Air Force, arrives in Saigon to work at the Armed Forces Radio Service station. He is greeted by Private Edward Garlick, who leads him to the studio, where the atmosphere is stiff and everything seems to follow a set script. Adrian doesn't stick to that script. His show begins with a "Good morning, Vietnam!" and mixes rock and roll with censored news and irreverent humor. The troops respond enthusiastically, but his superiors watch every improvisation and joke with suspicion. Adrian wants to entertain the soldiers without giving up his style, and the station becomes a battleground between his way of working and military discipline. Directed by Barry Levinson, with Robin Williams as the broadcaster in a story set in the middle of the war.

Goooooooooooooood morning, Vietnam! Time to rock it from the Delta to the DMZ!
Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? 'Cause if it leaks to the VC he could end up MIA, and then we'd all be put on KP.
Sometimes you got to specifically go out of your way to get into trouble. It's called fun.
Here's a news flash: Today President Lyndon Johnson passed a highway beautification bill. The bill basically said that his daughters could not drive in a convertible on public highways.
You're a very attractive man, Abersold. Don't think I haven't noticed.
I'm saying I'm through, Ed. I'm tired of people tellin' me what I can't say. "This news isn't official." "That comment is too sarcastic." I can't even make fun of Richard Nixon, and there's a man who is screaming out to be made fun of. So, fuck it.
