Rebeca waits at a Madrid airport for the arrival of her mother, Becky del Páramo, a famous bolero singer returning to Spain after fifteen years in Mexico. While she waits, the protagonist revisits her childhood, shaped by a mother absorbed in her career and romantic life, who neglected her and kept her at a distance. Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, the film places Rebeca, played by Victoria Abril, before an encounter that reopens old wounds. Marisa Paredes brings Becky to life, a woman who put success and her love affairs ahead of her daughter. With each memory, the wait becomes the setting for a reunion neither of them seems ready to face.
