In 1985, in Miami, detective Kung Fury patrols the Miami-Dade Police Department with his partner Dragon. One night, the two chase a red ninja down an alley with the intent of arresting him. The plan suddenly goes wrong: the ninja cuts Dragon in half and leaves Kung Fury face to face with the killer, with the alley as the only witness. Then lightning strikes him and a cobra bites him at the same time, and the officer rises with a strength he didn't have before. Kung Fury is left alone facing the ninja, with his dead partner a few yards away.
