Spain, early 1980s. Lola and Adolfo are a young married couple who have just lost the babies they were expecting. Lola, moreover, feels she has also lost her faith in God, and in an attempt to recover it, the couple visits a convent of nuns that takes in orphaned children. There they meet Tin and Tina, two seven-year-old albino siblings who spark Lola's interest. Adolfo does not share that attraction, but the couple begins to consider adopting them. What was meant to be a new chapter becomes the starting point for a life together marked by the children's strange behavior and their close relationship with the Catholic religion.
