José Luis Torrente is a sexist, racist former cop who is fond of prostitutes, alcohol and Atlético de Madrid. He lives in a rundown apartment in a Madrid slum with his father, whose disability benefits are the household's only real income. Torrente has no job and no money, and his days are spent drifting between bars and small-time scams, posing as an officer of the law even though he no longer belongs to the force. Written and directed by Santiago Segura, the film follows him around the city, where the protagonist, played by Segura himself, gets tangled up in situations he brings on himself and that seem to overwhelm him from the very start.
