Cuéntame cómo pasó

The Alcántara family is of rural origin and settles in San Genaro, a fictional working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Madrid. Antonio and Mercedes arrive from Sagrillas, a village in Albacete, together with Herminia, Mercedes' mother, and their three children: Inés, Toni and Carlos. Antonio juggles an office job at the Ministry of Agriculture with another at a print shop, while the family hopes to leave the hardships of rural life behind and move up into the middle class. The series follows their daily life in late-1960s Madrid, when television first arrives in their home. Neighbors, friends and relatives move around them, and the story traces an era in which the neighborhood and the country change at the same time. Created by Miguel Ángel Bernardeau, it airs on La 1 of TVE and stars Imanol Arias and Ana Duato.
