What Season 1 of Arde Madrid
Madrid, 1960s. American actress Ava Gardner lives in the capital during the Franco era, surrounded by artists, aristocrats and foreigners who fill her home with parties, whisky and rock and roll. The story is told from the perspective of her domestic staff. Ana Mari, an instructor with the Sección Femenina, takes a job as a maid with one mission: to spy on the actress on the regime’s orders. To hide her real task, she poses as the wife of Manolo, a hustler turned Gardner’s chauffeur. Working alongside them is Pilar, the maid. Between whisky smuggling, debts with Vargas and an unexpected pregnancy, the couple must keep their cover.
