What Season 1 of Da Vinci's Demons

Set in 15th-century Florence, the series follows the youth of Leonardo da Vinci, 25 years old, a gifted craftsman with a talent for invention and ideas. His insolent, sarcastic personality clashes with a ruling class that won't tolerate anyone who outshines them. To fund his most outlandish projects, Leonardo prepares a Carnival spectacle that catches the attention of Lorenzo de' Medici, who is aware of his military engineering ideas. That attention also stirs the interest of the Pazzi, the rival family. Meanwhile, Leonardo crosses paths with Saslan Al Rahim, a member of an ancient sect that questions why power keeps the people away from knowledge.
