What Season 1 of Defiance

Year 2046. Earth has changed completely and shares its world with the Votan, alien refugees who expected to find an uninhabited planet. Joshua Nolan, a veteran of the Pale Wars, arrives in Defiance with Irisa, his alien adoptive daughter. The town is built on the ruins of St. Louis and refuses to choose between the Earth Republic and the Votanis Collective. As a representative of the law, Nolan must keep order and maintain neutrality. The threats never let up: a convict plotting to bomb the city, insect plagues, a deadly virus and a human trafficking ring. On top of that, Nolan's past casts doubt on his position and threatens Amanda's campaign.
