What Season 5 of Doctor Who
The season picks up right where The End of Time left off. The Eleventh Doctor, freshly regenerated, lands on Earth in 1996 with the TARDIS wrecked by the shockwave, and touches down in front of Amy Pond's garden, where she becomes his new companion. Rory, Amy's fiancé, appears from the first episode, although it takes him six episodes to join the journey. River Song reappears twice. The conflicts take the Doctor from a 33rd-century spaceship to World War II, with the Daleks, the Weeping Angels, the Silurians and some vampires in Venice in 1580. The new showrunner, Steven Moffat, takes the reins of the series.
