El Chapo

Joaquín «El Chapo» Guzmán is the central character of this Mexican series, which begins in 1985. At that point Guzmán is a low-ranking member of the Guadalajara Cartel, watching the business from the bottom rungs. His ambition pushes him to seek more powerful positions within an organization where every move has consequences. The first episode shows how he navigates a world of rivalries and fragile loyalties, and how he starts to build a name for himself in the drug trade. Marco de la O plays the lead. The series airs on Univision, and Daniel Posada, Silvana Aguirre Zegarra, Carlos Contreras, Ernesto Contreras and José Manuel Cravioto are credited as creators.
