Synopsis of La Reina del Sur

In Culiacán, Sinaloa, Teresa Mendoza receives a phone call telling her that her boyfriend, "Güero" Dávila, has been killed, and warning her that she must flee as soon as possible. Desperate, she turns to Epifanio Vargas, Dávila's godfather, who sends her to Melilla, Spain, to start a new life there. Teresa arrives in an unfamiliar city with one goal: to stay safe and rebuild her future far from those who are after her. Her only objective is to survive and start from scratch. Created by Roberto Stopello, Lina Uribe and Darío Villegas, the series airs on Telemundo and stars Kate del Castillo.
