Synopsis of Power Rangers

Angel Grove, a fictional town in California, is the setting for this series. During a moon exploration mission, two astronauts accidentally open an alien container and release Rita Repulsa, an evil sorceress who had been locked away for ten thousand years. Rita and her minions build a castle on the satellite and set a course for Earth. To stop her, Zordon, a powerful sorcerer trapped in a time warp, and his robotic assistant Alpha 5 recruit a group of teenagers aged 17 to 22 who are still in high school. The young people must transform into the Power Rangers and face the monsters the witch sends from space, all while balancing the fight with the everyday problems of their age. Created by Haim Saban, the series aired on Fox Kids.

Trivia about Power Rangers

Haim Saban saw an episode of Choudenshi Bioman in Japan during a business trip, and the idea for an American adaptation grew out of that.
The pilot that Levy and Saban put together using footage from Zyuranger was presented under a different title before it took the name of the series.
In 1993, Canada stopped airing the series after complaints about its violent content, and it did not return until 2011.
New Zealand is the only country in the world where the series was canceled midway through its run, following a BSA ruling in 1994 that led to the second season being canceled.
Within three weeks, the series became the most-watched children's TV show in the United States, with 45% of the audience aged six to eleven.
The exterior command center was filmed at the House of the Book at the Brandeis-Bardin Institute, a building that had already appeared in Star Trek VI and The Lawnmower Man.
Disney+ canceled the project during development for budget-related reasons. The live-action reboot of «Power Rangers», announced in March 2025, was written and produced by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz.
