The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

What Season 1 of Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is the world's only consulting detective in late Victorian England. His office serves modest clients and members of the royal family, and he helps the police when their cases overlap with those of Inspector Lestrade. Holmes needs a constant challenge. Without a case that's complex enough, he falls into depression and drug abuse. Each episode adapts a story by Arthur Conan Doyle with a different mystery: compromising photographs sought by a monarch, a wife terrified by a series of drawings, a stolen naval treaty, or a colonel found dead. Jeremy Brett plays the detective in this ITV series created by John Hawkesworth.
