What Season 1 of Tales from the Crypt

A corpse hosts this horror anthology that aired on HBO. The Crypt Keeper introduces each episode, describes the most gruesome details of every story, and mocks anyone who listens. Each tale adapts a story published by EC Comics in the 1950s, with new characters and settings. The series, created by William M. Gaines and Steven Dodd, aims to revive the horror genre. In the first, after the death penalty is abolished, a vengeful prison guard quits his job and dishes out his own brand of justice. In the second, a prostitute shares her beauty with a moneylender, who warns her she has four months to change his mind. Then, a newlywed couple moves into the aunt's house, and a retiree discovers his wife's love for animals and channels it into a new hobby.
