Jessica Morris entered American television quietly but with absolute determination. In 2001, she signed her contract for One Life to Live, one of ABC's longest-running daytime soap operas. There, she played Jennifer Rappaport for four consecutive years. That shoot was a crash course in technical survival, and Morris filmed more than two hundred episodes before turning twenty-five.

The actress left the soap opera format in 2005 to find a place in Los Angeles film. And the bet paid off.

But the pace of work did not stop her from focusing on pure acting.

In 2019, she shot The Wrong Mommy and became interested in the behind-the-scenes process. The actress understood that longevity in Hollywood depends on the ability to create your own content. So she began writing her own suspense stories for the networks that already trusted her face.

In 2020, she took part in the controversial film The Onania Club, directed by Tom Six. It marked a shift toward much darker and more experimental cinema. The film faced distribution problems and remained in a legal and commercial limbo for years.

The move into creative control

The year 2023 marked her official entry into screenwriting. She wrote the script for Twisted Little Lies, a movie in which she also starred. This dual role allowed her to control the tone of the story and ensure that female characters had more weight than in conventional thrillers.

And the result was profitable.

In 2024, she repeated the formula with Secrets Between Sisters, where, in addition to writing the script, she also served as executive producer. Morris has achieved what few actors of her generation manage: keeping a steady workload without depending on big casting calls. Her network of contacts in low-budget independent film guarantees at least three releases a year.

In her personal life, Morris married actor Rib Hillis in May 2023. The two have collaborated on several television projects, sharing the set in domestic thriller stories that often top the ratings on specialized streaming platforms.

By 2025, she is confirmed to appear in the series The Pitt, a Max production that marks her return to large-scale formats. In 2026, she stars in the film Flint, a drama currently in post-production. Filming for this latest project was completed in 22 working days on locations across the United States.
