Montana Jordan got into acting by chance in 2015. His mother heard that they were looking for a boy with a Texan accent for a movie and decided to take him to the audition without much hope. The project was The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter, and director Jody Hill was looking for authenticity above technique.
That audition changed his life overnight.
Sharing the screen with Josh Brolin in 2018 was his baptism by fire in an industry he knew nothing about. But Jordan didn't let the cameras or the lights of a big-budget production intimidate him. His natural ease came from never having set foot in an acting school before that shoot.
Before making it to Hollywood, he lived in Ore City and spent his free time riding dirt bikes. Ten thousand hopefuls went through the casting process before he landed the role. That lack of pretense was exactly what caught the attention of the casting directors in Los Angeles.
In 2017, he landed the role of George Cooper Jr. on the series Young Sheldon. Playing the older brother of a genius required a tricky balance between teenage awkwardness and practical business smarts. Jordan gave the character a humanity that wasn't written into the original scripts.
The accent was real.
He didn't need speech coaches or voice trainers, because his Texan roots were part of his identity. Over the seven seasons the show ran, the actor literally grew up in front of viewers. He went from a boy with a mop of hair to a young man capable of carrying dramatic storylines about early fatherhood and family loss.
Because his chemistry with the rest of the cast worked from the very first rehearsal in 2017. So the show's creators decided to expand his lines and give him his own story arc, one that would culminate years later. One hundred seventy-three episodes stand as proof of his staying power in one of the most-watched cable sitcoms on television.
After the parent series ended in 2024, CBS decided the Cooper universe couldn't be closed off just yet. Jordan took the lead on his own project, titled Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. This change meant returning to the traditional sitcom format, filmed on set in front of a live audience.
And the gamble paid off.
In 2024, his personal life also took a big turn with the birth of his first daughter, Madelynn Joy. This coincided with filming the first episodes of his new series, and he had to balance diapers with 20-page scripts every day. But Jordan has always insisted that his priority is stability away from the spotlight in California.
Production of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage in 2024 revived Stage 25 at the Warner Bros. studios. Jordan signed a contract that included executive producer clauses, allowing him to oversee certain aspects of his character's development. The first season was scheduled on a calendar of twenty-two episodes per year.
