Beauty in Black

Tyler Perry created this drama series for Netflix, with Crystle Stewart and Taylor Polidore leading the cast. Its leads are two young women from opposite worlds whose paths eventually cross. One survives day to day as a stripper, held hostage alongside a violent pimp. The other runs a thriving hair-straightening products company and is trapped in a loveless marriage, surrounded by a dysfunctional in-law family. Both try to survive the pressure around them, and their lives begin to intertwine. Neither has an easy way out, and every step they take puts them in a more dangerous position. The series explores how far they are willing to go to change their fate.
