Season five opens with Matty splitting the Phoenix Foundation team into missions and pairing each member with the people they clashed with most during the Codex affair, the organization that remains the biggest threat. Mac and his team face biological weapons, kidnappings and an experimental cancer treatment that Mac develops with a friend and that others want to turn into a nerve agent. Mac also tries to keep his relationship with Desi on track, while Riley, Matty and Russ chase leads about nano-trackers that Mac and Riley carry in their bodies.
