What Season 1 of Mad About You
Paul Buchman and Jamie Stemple are a newlywed couple living in Manhattan. He directs documentaries: he is creative but cautious and analytical. She works in public relations, has a freer spirit and a few quirks. They met just five months ago, so the season revolves around their attempts to agree on house rules for their apartment. Both are neurotic, each in their own way, and every everyday detail turns into a tug-of-war. The episodes revisit a dinner that goes wrong, the purchase of a sofa, a Sunday with no plans, or a visit from Jamie's parents. Friends and Paul's past also complicate the relationship.
