What Season 5 of Vera

Vera Stanhope, Chief Inspector of the fictional Northumberland & City Police, is almost retired but still devoted to her work. Her scruffy look and gruff manner hide a calculating mind that spots the flaws in her colleagues' reasoning. Alongside Sergeant Joe Ashworth, whom she treats almost like a son, she takes on every case with enthusiasm and professionalism. The season kicks off with a suspicious fire at a coastal holiday park and continues with a thirty-year-old mystery in a forest. Then a remote Northumberland farm hides another puzzle. Vera genuinely cares about her team, even if she doesn't show it.
