Brandon Larracuente

Brandon Larracuente started working when most kids only think about recess. At eight years old, he was already in a stage play titled Desire in New Rochelle. His parents (both police officers in New York) taught him the discipline needed to keep up a pace that few young people can handle.

So he decided to move to Florida to look for new career opportunities away from the big city.

And it worked.

The Leap to Cable Television

He broke into television with small roles in series such as The Glades and Every Witch Way. But the real change of pace came with Netflix. In 2015, he played Ben Rayburn in Bloodline, a dense family drama where he shared scenes with actors of the caliber of Kyle Chandler.

The American High School Stereotype

The role that brought him global recognition was Jeff Atkins in 13 Reasons Why for 2017. His character was a beacon of light in a story full of darkness. Fans of the series protested on social media when his storyline came to an abrupt end.

That was a lesson in how fiction affects a young audience.

In 2020, he took on the challenge of starring in the reboot of Party of Five. He played Emilio Acosta, a musician who must take care of his siblings after their parents are deported. The series tackled complex political themes and pushed him away from the sporty teen image.

After leaving the series, he looked for more mature roles in mainstream television. The goal was to avoid being typecast in youth-oriented productions.

Between the Hospital and the Big Screen

His entry into medical drama came in 2022. He joined the cast of The Good Doctor as Dr. Daniel Perez. He stayed on the show for a full season, as the script called for a dramatic exit tied to opioid addiction.

Because the actor quickly understood that broadcast television demands a different kind of physical endurance than streaming.

But film was always the ultimate goal.

In 2024, he appeared in the film On Swift Horses alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi. Filming took place at various locations across the United States, directed by Daniel Minahan. That same year, he also joined the cast of The Life of Chuck, an adaptation of Stephen King directed by Mike Flanagan.

Larracuente lives in Los Angeles and runs his own projects from an independent production company. In 2023, he married Jazmin Garcia after several years of dating. The cumulative earnings of his projects on digital platforms exceed one hundred million views worldwide.
