Bryce Hodgson

The Workhorse of Canadian Film

Bryce Hodgson didn't break into the industry with a master plan. He was born in Vancouver, and surrounded by industrial film sets there, he quickly realized that acting was a craft built on pure endurance. In 2006, he landed his first credited role in the film The Santa Clause 3. It was a minor appearance, but it helped casting directors in British Columbia put his name on their list of reliable supporting actors.

For nearly a decade, Hodgson played one-off characters in genre series and youth productions. In 2011, he appeared in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, and in 2014 he had a small role in the blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past. His look, often associated with rebellious or slightly scruffy characters, helped him carve out a very specific niche in the North American market.

The Supporting Player Who Stole the Show

The real turning point in his career came in 2015, when he joined the cast of iZombie. He played Don E, a role that initially was not expected to carry much narrative weight. In the end, he appeared in more than 50 episodes of the series across five seasons. His ability to handle dark humor without losing dramatic tension gave him a visibility he had never had before.

And the audience responded.

In 2021, he worked on the series The Stand, based on the work of Stephen King. With this project, Hodgson confirmed he is comfortable in literary adaptations that border on horror or the supernatural. He doesn't need to be the lead for his presence to be felt in the frame. His sharp features and vocal control let him build unsettling characters with very little screen time.

Darkness and New Platforms

In 2023, she joined the cast of The Fall of the House of Usher, Mike Flanagan's miniseries for Netflix. Here she played Toby, a character who fit perfectly into that atmosphere of family decay and Gothic horror. The production became one of the most-watched titles of that TV cycle and strengthened his ties to the major streaming platforms.

Acting in front of the camera isn't everything.

Hodgson has expanded his career into voice acting and creative consulting in Vancouver. In 2024, his name is linked to animated projects and independent productions where he takes on roles that go beyond pure acting. Vancouver remains his main base of operations and the place where he runs his side as a musician in local punk bands.

His filmography already tops 60 professional credits across film and television.
