Cedric Yarbrough stands nearly six feet tall. Her physical presence landed her first roles in the industry, but it was her improv ability that took her off the Minneapolis stages. In 2003 she put on an officer's uniform for Reno 911! and shook up the conventions of American TV comedy.
He played Agent S. Williams during the first six seasons.
The shoot had no conventional scripts. Actors were given a basic outline and had to build the dialogue on the fly in front of the cameras. Yarbrough proved he could hold his own alongside heavyweight names in the genre without missing a beat. This stint at Comedy Central helped him build a reputation as a highly reliable supporting actor that major studios began looking for to add weight to their casts.
Before moving to Los Angeles, he trained at Minnesota State University. There he refined a technique that blends body control with a deep vocal delivery. For Yarbrough, humor doesn't come from the joke but from the seriousness with which the character faces the absurd.
Many viewers recognize his face on screen, but millions more know his voice without realizing it. In 2005 he accepted the role of Tom DuBois in the animated series The Boondocks. He was a complex, nuanced character who served as the rational counterpoint to the satirical aggression of the rest of the cast.
It was a smart financial and artistic decision.
Voice work kept him consistently busy as he moved from one film set to another. He took part in BoJack Horseman, voicing Officer Meow Meow Fuzzyface, and in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths during 2024. He isn't chasing top billing but technical precision in every vocal performance.
But his career isn't limited to sitcoms or animation. He has moved along the edges of the industry, taking on projects that demand a dry, restrained dramatic register.
The industry often pigeonholes actors into narrow molds. Yarbrough broke that pattern by working with major directors on projects far from easy laughs. In 2023 he joined the cast of Lucky Hank to play Paul Rourke and shared the screen with Bob Odenkirk in a much bitterer academic narrative.
That same year she appeared in Unfrosted under the direction of Jerry Seinfeld.
His move into Clint Eastwood film in 2024 with Juror No. 2 was a seismic shift in his career. In this film he plays one of the jurors in a dense courtroom drama that steers clear of Hollywood's usual artifice. The shoot took place in Georgia under strict technical discipline, where Eastwood barely allowed retakes to preserve the freshness of the first take.
And the gamble paid off.
Yarbrough filmed his scenes for The Underdoggs in 2024 alongside Snoop Dogg. The production had an estimated budget of $30 million. The actor lives in Los Angeles and manages his career without publicists seeking media overexposure.
