Synopsis of Reno 911!
Reno 911! is a mockumentary-style parody of Cops, the Fox show that follows real police officers on their daily duties. Here, the protagonists are the officers of the Reno Sheriff's Department in Nevada, a fictional and wildly incompetent agency. The camera follows them as they chase criminals or try to mediate domestic disputes, determined to do their jobs even though almost nothing goes right for them. The humor comes from the gap between what the officers think they are doing and what they actually accomplish. Their dialogue is peppered with profanity that is bleeped out on television. The series was created by Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant and Kerri Kenney, and airs on Comedy Central.
