Jordan Danger was born in El Paso in 1991, and before turning fifteen she was already skating in front of Disney cameras. She appeared in Go Figure in 2005. She had to learn to skate on ice professionally in just a few months to play Katelin Kingsford.
The industry quickly swallowed her up.
That debut taught her that her place was on long-running shoots. But her real breakthrough into the American market came with Eureka. There, she played Zoe Carter between 2006 and 2012 in a production that blended science fiction with family drama.
Filming the Syfy series lasted six years and shaped her teenage years. She worked in a world of visual effects and technical scripts that shaped how she understood the set. She appeared in 50 episodes before the show was canceled for good.
In 2009, she mixed drama with comedy in Hank. The ABC series barely lasted one season on air. Kelsey Grammer was the lead, and Danger played his daughter in a storyline that never quite won over audiences.
She changed her stage surname from Hinson to Danger to draw a clear creative line. She wanted to move away from the young actress image the studios had assigned her for a decade. In 2018, she wrote and starred in Breaking & Exiting. It was her first serious foray into executive producing and screenwriting for film.
Total control over the process became an absolute priority.
Acting was no longer enough for her ambitions in Los Angeles. So in 2022, she directed God Save the Queens. The film follows four drag queens going through an existential crisis, and it marked her official debut behind the camera on a feature-length film.
The bet paid off with critics in the industry. In 2023, she got involved in The Higher Spirit as the head writer and director. The film was shot on a tight budget with a very small crew to preserve its creative independence.
Her writing often focuses on family dysfunction and dry humor. Before directing, she prefers to spend months polishing dialogue on her own. The budget for her first feature as a director did not exceed one million dollars.
