Lindsay Price started out eating Jell-O in front of a camera. She was only five years old when Bill Cosby chose her for a Jell-O commercial in 1982. It was her first real contact with an industry that would absorb her for the next four decades. Her Korean and German-Irish heritage gave her a look that 1980s Hollywood didn't quite know how to place.
But she never stopped working.
In 1991, she joined the cast of All My Children. The shoots were grueling, and the production pace left little room for mistakes. There she learned to memorize script pages in a matter of minutes. She went on to The Bold and the Beautiful between 1995 and 1997, playing Michael Lai. Daily soaps are the training ground for any actor who wants to stay relevant in American television.
She signed exclusive contracts that kept her tied to the set five days a week.
Her big commercial break came with Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1998. She joined to fill a supporting role and ended up staying until the show ended in 2000. Her character, Janet Sosna, broke the hold of Anglo surnames in television's most famous zip code. In the show, she married the character played by Ian Ziering, which put her right into living rooms around the world.
And audiences accepted her without a second thought.
In 2008, she starred in Lipstick Jungle alongside Brooke Shields. The series aimed to inherit the phenomenon of Sex and the City but only lasted two seasons on the air. Price played Victory Ford, a fashion designer trying to revive her personal brand. Despite the cancellation in 2009, critics praised her ability to carry light comedy storylines without tipping into overacting.
Her later projects were much shorter. In 2009, she joined the cast of Eastwick, an ABC bet based on the witches from the famous novel. The series never found its audience and was canceled after thirteen episodes. Television is a business of immediate audiences, and Price learned that the hard way.
In 2013, she married Australian chef Curtis Stone in a private ceremony in Mallorca. The Spanish press covered the event because of the media frenzy on the island. They had two children, and she chose to scale back her screen appearances to focus on raising them. Her later work was therefore limited to occasional guest roles in hit series.
And the gamble paid off.
She appeared in several episodes of A Million Little Things during 2021. Her role as Camille was brief but effective. She was no longer chasing the top billing she had in the nineties. In 2023, she appeared on Celebrity Family Feud with her family to raise money for charity. It's a stage of her life where personal reputation matters more than hours on set.
The industry has changed dramatically since that Jell-O commercial from her childhood. Price has managed her wealth by investing in real estate in Los Angeles and keeping a low profile on social media. In 2024, her main residence was still a 13-million-dollar mansion in the Encino neighborhood.
The property has eight bedrooms and was bought after she sold her previous home in Brentwood for a similar price.
