Lindsay Pulsipher was born in Salt Lake City in 1982 and grew up surrounded by a very direct artistic influence. Her mother was a stage actress in Utah, so the stage never felt like a foreign place to her during her childhood.
She moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000s with the goal of working steadily. She wasn't chasing instant fame or the spotlight of teen magazines. Before filming, she reads the script looking for cracks in the characters.
She landed small roles in series such as Touched by an Angel and House. These were brief appearances that helped pay the bills while she learned how the California industry worked.
And then came the opportunity that pulled her out of relative obscurity.
In 2010, she joined the cast of True Blood to play Crystal Norris. It was a complicated role because it demanded exhausting physical and emotional work. Audiences quickly identified her with the mix of fragility and danger that defines the inhabitants of that Southern fictional world.
Her role in the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys in 2012 marked a big step up in her professional visibility. She shared the screen with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton in a story about chronic family feuds. She played Roseanna McCoy in a production that averaged nearly 14 million viewers per episode during its original broadcast.
But her career didn't stop at period drama.
She joined Law & Order: Special Victims Unit to bring Kim Rollins to life. She is a recurring character who appeared on and off from 2012 to 2021. Audiences recognize her for her toxic relationship with her sister on the show, a role that demands absolute coolness in every gesture.
Because Pulsipher understands that television is a medium of resistance.
In 2013, she starred in The Rambler alongside Dermot Mulroney. It is a surreal horror film that moves away from any conventional commercial structure. She tends to choose projects where the landscape carries as much weight as the dialogue.
She shot Lamb in 2015 under the direction of Ross Partridge.
The industry values her ability to hold close-ups without relying on big gestures. In 2017, she worked on The Oregonian, a film that explores raw psychological horror. She prefers shooting on natural locations over the closed studios of California.
In 2019, she was part of the cast of Savage State, a Western with a European aesthetic. Later, in 2021, she appeared in The Last Thing Mary Saw, deepening her work in genre cinema with historical undertones and oppressive atmospheres.
In 2023, she joined the cast of God Is a Bullet, directed by Nick Cassavetes. Filming took place mainly on location in Mexico and required specific physical training for the action scenes. The production had an estimated budget of $15 million.
