Synopsis of Shooter

Bob Lee Swagger is a former Marine sniper who has lived in isolation since retiring for medical reasons. His peace is shattered when he learns of a plot to assassinate the President of the United States. Persuaded to return to action, he decides to step in and stop the attack. The series is set in Vancouver, where Swagger moves between Secret Service and FBI agents, on terrain where he doesn't know whom he can trust. Ryan Phillippe stars as the lead in this John Hlavin production, which airs on USA Network. The central conflict pits a man who preferred never to fire a gun again against a threat that moves faster than his plans.

Trivia about Shooter

During the filming of a scene at Agua Dulce Airpark on July 6, 2016, Tom Sizemore accidentally ran over a stunt double.

The second season was cut from ten planned episodes to eight, all already shot, after Ryan Phillippe broke a leg on July 16, 2017 in an incident unrelated to the series.

Omar Epps blamed the cancellation on political maneuvering within the network and insisted that the ratings had nothing to do with it.

USA Network pulled the series from its schedule entirely following the police shootings in Baton Rouge on July 17, 2016.

Phillippe was Mark Wahlberg's first choice for the lead role, and the actor performed his own stunts and practiced shooting at Camp Pendleton.

The project started at TNT and moved to USA Network in early March 2015, with a commitment to produce the pilot.

In some regions of the world, Netflix began streaming the series one day later than its original broadcast in the United States.

The renewal of "Shooter" for a second season was announced on December 19, 2016; the series was then averaging 1.41 million viewers per episode in Live+Same Day ratings.
