Synopsis of Dutton Ranch

Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler leave the Yellowstone ranch behind and settle in South Texas with one clear goal: to build a life of their own. She is a cold-minded financier with an expert handle on people; he spent years as the family's ranch foreman and enforcer. Young Carter joins them and must adapt to a new territory. But their dream soon collides with harsh problems and a rival ranch willing to do anything to defend its empire. Created by Chad Feehan, the series airs on Paramount+ and Paramount Network, and reunites Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.

Trivia about Dutton Ranch

Chad Feehan left the project before the premiere after clashes with the cast, with Taylor Sheridan, and with David C. Glasser, head of 101 Studios.

Paramount+ renewed the series for a second season in June 2026, and Benjamin Cavell joined as showrunner.

In April 2026, it was announced that country singer Morgan Wade had joined the series in a recurring role.

Filming began in August 2025 in Ferris, Texas, with Christina Alexandra Voros directing the premiere and finale episodes.

Rotten Tomatoes gives the series a 89% approval rating based on 38 professional reviews.

The first season consists of nine episodes and premiered with two episodes on May 15, 2026, before its finale aired on July 3 of the same year.

Ed Harris and Annette Bening are part of the series' cast; both have collected Oscar nominations, four for Harris and five for Bening.

Although it drew enough viewers to attract attention on Paramount+, the series was not eligible for the 2026 Emmy nominations because its airing schedule fell outside the eligibility period.
