Milo Manheim was born in Venice, Los Angeles, surrounded by scripts and cameras from day one. His mother is actress Camryn Manheim. He grew up on television sets, watching how fiction was built from the inside, and that early exposure shaped his view of the craft.
It wasn't a choice, it was a natural pull.
At six years old, he was already performing in local musical theater programs in his community. He appeared in more than fifteen musicals before coming of age, and that technical foundation helped him master the stage before facing a professional casting call. His real break into the industry, however, came through an audition for Disney Channel in 2017.
Before landing his first major hit, he already played guitar, piano, drums and ukulele. This multidisciplinary training helped him stand out from those who were only chasing quick fame on social media.
The premiere of Zombies in 2018 gave him massive visibility among teen audiences around the world. He played Zed, a football player who breaks social barriers in a fantasy setting. The movie drew more than ten million viewers in its first week on air.
That figure allowed him to negotiate more ambitious contracts for the sequels that came out in 2020 and 2022. The Disney brand often traps its stars in an endless cycle of wholesome, family-friendly content. But he chose to combine monster makeup with different physical challenges so he wouldn't get stuck.
In 2018, he took part in the competition Dancing with the Stars. He finished in second place. That experience showed him that his dance training was not just a complement to his acting profile but a core work tool.
Because the youth market is volatile and demands constant reinvention to avoid being forgotten.
In 2023, he starred in School Spirits for Paramount+. He plays Wally Clark, an '80s athlete trapped in the limbo of a high school. The series broke with his traditional Disney image by tackling grief and teen trauma without sugarcoating.
That same year, he shot Thanksgiving under the direction of filmmaker Eli Roth. It was his first serious venture into big-budget commercial horror. The production had a budget of fifteen million dollars and grossed nearly three times that at the international box office.
The industry stopped seeing him as a children's niche product.
In 2023, he also joined the cast of Journey to Bethlehem. It's a musical in which he plays Joseph, and he had to record several pieces of the original soundtrack in the studio. So his career remains tied to music, but from a far more mature and technical production perspective.
During filming of Prom Pact in 2023, he worked under the direction of Anya Adams in Vancouver. The movie was shot in just thirty days to meet the studio's post-production deadlines. The contract for the second season of his fantasy series was closed with a confidentiality clause covering the final salary.
