Sasha Lane

Andrea Arnold discovered her on a Florida beach during Spring Break 2015. Sasha Lane had no studio photos and no agent. She was there to have fun with her friends, and the following year she ended up starring in American Honey. The film won the Jury Prize at Cannes and accidentally changed her destiny.

She was a glitch in the system.

In 2018, she appeared in The Miseducation of Cameron Post. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. She played a teen girl at a religious conversion therapy center. But she didn't want to be typecast in the most raw independent drama.

In 2019, she tried her luck in the big leagues with the reboot of Hellboy. The film was a box office failure and received scathing reviews. For her, it was a chance to learn about large-scale shoots and the heavy use of green screens.

The move to streaming platforms

Television came calling soon after. In 2020, she starred in the American version of Utopia for Amazon Prime Video. She played Jessica Hyde. The series was canceled after a single season, but her image left a lasting mark on the imagination of contemporary science fiction.

She joined the Marvel universe in 2021. In the series Loki, she played Hunter C-20. It was a supporting role in a plot about time travel. Still, her physical presence brought a real texture that superhero productions sometimes lack.

In 2022, she switched gears with Conversations with Friends. The adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel placed her in an intimate drama shot in Ireland. She played Bobbi. The project demanded an emotional restraint she hadn't explored as much in her previous work.

And the pace didn't let up.

In 2023, she shared the screen with Tom Holland in The Crowded Room for Apple TV+. The series dealt with crime and mental health in New York City in the 1970s. She played Ariana. The production received mixed reviews but stood out for the performances of its young cast.

Big Budgets and Disasters

In 2024, she joined the cast of Twisters. The Universal Pictures production worked as a spiritual sequel to the 1996 classic. Filming in Oklahoma was demanding because of the simulated weather conditions.

Before shooting extreme action scenes, the actors spent hours in safety rehearsals. Lane has always kept a low profile on the traditional red carpets of Los Angeles. She prefers to live in Texas and choose projects that won't force her to give up her aesthetic identity.

The final budget for the production of Twisters topped 155 million dollars.
