Mario is a nurse at a care home in Betanzos, Galicia. Everyone at the center loves him, and his daily work goes on with the ease of someone who knows every corner of the place. Trivia about Eye for an Eye

The film ends with a dedication to Xan Cejudo, who died almost a year before its theatrical release.

Filming stretched on for just over a month, from March 27 to April 30, 2018.

90% of the production was handled by Spanish companies, and the remaining 10% was contributed by the French firm Playtime Production.

The film grossed 2,446,947.33 euros at the box office, according to data from Wikidata.

In 2019, it won two Mestre Mateo Awards, one for Best Supporting Actor and another for Best Supporting Actress.

Paco Plaza agreed to direct it after having to turn down the project so he could take on Verónica; producer Mercedes Gamero chose to wait for him because she wanted him to take the director's chair.

Enric Auquer was cast despite not being Galician: casting director Arantxa Vélez had seen him act on stage and convinced Plaza that he could play the role with a Galician accent.

The film won a Goya for Enric Auquer as Best New Actor and earned three nominations, including Best Actor and Best New Actor.
