Trivia about Crash Landing on You

Park Ji-eun drew inspiration from an incident in Incheon in 2008, and the project took 11 years to come together because the screenwriter was juggling other commitments.

To make the accident believable, military and aviation experts explained to the producers that paragliders evade radar, unlike motorized aircraft.

The scenes set in the Korean demilitarized zone were shot at several oreums on Jeju Island, since the director couldn't find the atmosphere he was looking for in the DMZ itself.

TVING's servers crashed during the broadcast of one episode due to the huge number of visits, and 92.5% of active users were able to watch the live stream.

The series boosted sales of the brands that appeared on screen and increased tourism to its filming locations in Switzerland.

In 2022 it was adapted into a musical, with a book by Park Hae-rim, music by Lee Sang-hoon, and direction by Park Ji-hye.

Filming began in South Korea and continued in Switzerland in late August 2019 and in Mongolia during September; the North Korean scenes were shot in South Korea and Mongolia.

The series won four awards and received nine nominations on IMDb, though the source does not specify the categories in this summary.
