What Season 1 of Falling Skies

Six months after an alien invasion, Earth is devastated. The invaders have shut off electricity and destroyed much of the armies and population. Tom Mason, a former history professor in Boston, survives with his sons after losing his wife in the first attack. When one of them is captured, Tom joins the 2nd Mass, a resistance of soldiers and civilians operating out of Boston. As second in command, he puts his knowledge of military history to work to save the group. His priority is to rescue his son and protect the other two. They also search for a weak point in the invaders. They also must deal with a gang of criminals led by John Pope.
