What Season 1 of Person of Interest

New York City, after the 11/11 attacks. John Reese, a former Green Beret and ex-CIA operative, survives as a homeless man, presumed dead and drowning his sorrows in alcohol. Harold Finch, a reclusive billionaire, offers him a job. Finch has built the Machine, a system that analyzes surveillance cameras, communications, and recordings to predict acts of violence. The government uses the program, but the Machine also flags everyday crimes it considers irrelevant. Since Finch needs a man in the field, the two set out to prevent those deaths. Cases arrive one by one, from an assistant district attorney with ties to corrupt cops to a banker accused of rape.
