Synopsis of The Map of Longing

Greta is convinced she was born to save her sister Lucy, who has leukemia, with her own stem cells. Her life revolves around that mission, and the series explores the conflict that arises from such an unwavering conviction: what happens to a young woman whose sense of purpose in the world depends on a single goal? Isa Sánchez is the creator of this Netflix production, and Alícia Falcó leads the cast alongside Pablo Álvarez. The sources consulted do not specify the place or era in which the story takes place, so the narrative rests on the bond between the two sisters and the strength of that personal promise.

Trivia about The Map of Longing

Within just a few days, the miniseries became the most-watched Netflix production in Spain and reached No. 6 globally among non-English-language series.

Netflix and Brutal Media asked Isa Sánchez to keep developing the scripts while she wrote the six episodes of the miniseries.

The adaptation went from being conceived as a streaming movie to ultimately becoming a six-episode series.

The production brings together two creators from Málaga: Isa Sánchez, a screenwriter from the La Luz neighborhood, and Laura M. Campos, a director linked to Huelin.
